International researchers have asked the National ME/FM Action Network for volunteers for their research studies. We are most pleased to assist researchers in any way possible. We will post research announcements and contact our membership.
Many of our members have participated in numerous research studies such as:
-
The National ME/FM Action Network participated in Dr. Richard Bruno’s (of U.S.A) study on Post-Polio Sequelae, ME/CFS, and FMS.
-
We represented Canada in an Eye Symptom Survey carried out by Dr. Walter Potaznick, OD, FAAO, of New England College of Optometry.
-
We participated in Dr. Leslie Simpson’s (of New Zealand) study of changes in the shape of the red blood cell population of ME/CFS and FMS patients.
-
The National ME/FM Action Network organized the ME/CFS and FMS patients’ blood drive for Miss Panjwani. Her findings of abnormal levels of the blood enzyme 2,3-diphosoglycertate (2,3 DPG) in ME and FM patients earned her The Young Canadian Innovator Award at the 1998 Canada-Wide Science Fair. Ms. Panjwani represented Canada in the Intel International Science and Engineering Fair held in Pennsylvania, USA where she won second prize in Medicine and Health.
- Our organization participated in the CFIDS Massachusetts, ‘Quality of Life Survey’.
- and numerous others
