  Physicians’ Guidelines Minimize

The Consensus Documents for ME/CFS and FMS, which are the fulfillment of years of lobbying by the National ME/FM Action Network, include clinical definitions and comprehensive, integrative diagnostic and treatment guidelines.

We are most pleased that The Haworth Press has given us permission to have the Consensus Documents on our website and thank Haworth Press for their generosity.

Background

    Consensus Documents

The FMS Consensus Document was published simultaneously in the Journal of Musculoskeletal Pain, Volume 11, Number 4, 2003 and as a book entitled "FIBROMYALGIA SYNDROME: A Clinical Case Definition for Practitioners".
The format of the FMS Definition is correct in the book.
The format of the FMS Definition was published incorrectly in the J of MSP.

    Overviews of the Consensus Documents

To further assist busy medical practitioners, Dr. Bruce Carruthers, principal author of the ME/CFS Consensus Document and Co-Editor of the FMS Consensus Document, and Marjorie van de Sande, Consensus Coordinator of both the ME/CFS and FMS Consensus Documents, have written and published Overviews of the Consensus Documents independent of any organization. Please click on Overviews in the left menu.

The Overviews have been translated into several languages.
